About

Hi there,

Welcome to my blog. Hope you find it interesting and helpful. You will see a list of categories and topics on the right hand side of this page. I will be adding to them regularly so keep checking for what’s new. Or better still go to my website – www.berrisnaturopath.com – and register to receive my enewsletters.

I have been a naturopath for over 20 years and I love what I do. Everyday I get the opportunity to see how fabulous natural medicines are for treating  a wide variety of disorders.

I specialise in the treatment of autoimmune diseases, particularly those involving the thyroid gland. I also treat many women with reproductive disorders including PMS, endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids and menopausal symptoms, and I have seen much success treating couples for infertility.

I am very lucky that my profession allows me to travel. I travel to the UK and South Africa on a regular basis to lecture to practitioners in those countries. I also speak regularly at practitioner seminars in Australia and New Zealand.  I love to travel and it not only gives me the opportunity to meet practitioners from other countries, it also give me the opportunity to indulge my other passion, photography. You can find me on Facebook and view some of my photos there.

Stay healthy and happy,

Berris

    Hi Berris,
I was a student of yours (finishing in 1997). I have been practising ever since and in NZ for the last five years. I also came to you to help me get pregant, which worked, I have a lovely 6 year old boy. I’ve been trying to get pregnant for a while now (it’s getting a bit late, I’m 42) and I’ve reasently found out I have a thyroid autoimmune problem (which I’ve been working on for about 8 months and it’s reasonably stable). Your looking so well and happy so I’m sure you’ve had some good reasults for yourself. Would it be possible for me to still get pregnant and do think it would be beneficial for me to come and see you for some treatments, when I’m in Australia? Thank you. Have great day, Carolyn.

    • Hi Carolyn
It is so good to hear from you. I think it would be a great idea to see me when you are back here. Don’t give up hope of becoming pregnant just yet. It is worth trying everything possible.
My clinic number is 07 3349 3122, so give me a call when you are here and we can get going with your treatment.
      Regards, Berris

    Dear Berris

I am a 3rd year herbalist student in the UK at the University of Westminster. I am particularly interested how can it be used for other than female problems. I found it even harder to find references for it. Could you advice me on that?

    Thank you

Hey Berris! I attended your MediHerb seminar when you where in Durban a while ago! I found it really informative, thank you. I qualified with Plaskett Nutritional Medicine college last year – naturopathic nutrition and herbal adjunctive medicine, and have worked in a health shop for 5 years. I’m also now finishing my chiropractic studies at the end of this year.
So…. I starting to explore future possibilities in work, and would like your advice on naturopathy in australia?? Is there certain website that I can look into, or certain regulation boards, maybe practitioners keen to have an associate join…
Any advice will be greatly appreciated;)
    Many thanks,
    Nice day,
    Jandré
